The project for my Global Health course evaluates the Philippine public health system, particularly in light of reforms initiated by the Universal Health Care Bill signed into law in 2019. It highlights the progress made in child health through vaccinations, notably reducing child mortality rates significantly. Despite these advancements, the project identifies various challenges impacting healthcare access and equity, such as global health crises, natural disasters, and systemic issues within the health sector. Furthermore, it emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the government and the public to improve health outcomes and rebuild trust in vaccination programs. Overall, the project advocates for better management of health resources to ensure universal and high-quality healthcare access.

This presentation for my intro to Health Systems course provides an in-depth analysis of the Chinese healthcare system, exploring its strengths, such as universal health coverage and a rapidly improving infrastructure, alongside weaknesses like disparities in access between urban and rural areas. It also examines the role of health taxes and their relationship to China's GDP, illustrating how economic factors impact public health funding. Health statistics, including life expectancy and disease burden, are compared between China and the United States to highlight differences in health outcomes and resource allocation. This topic is relevant to your my degree in Language and International Health as it underscores the challenges and opportunities in global healthcare systems and the importance of policy, economic factors, and cultural context in shaping health outcomes worldwide.
